Joseph Eloi Broussard

Joseph Eloi Broussard (1866-1956) converted a grist mill near Beaumont, Texas into the Beaumont Rice Mill, the first commercial rice mill in Texas. The Mill made rice, along with lumber and cattle, an important commodity to the early residents of Beaumont. ^{[1] [2]}
